BMW M5 Subwoofer Box, Phantom Fit F90 Enclosure.
If you want serious bass in your BMW M5 without putting a large rectangular subwoofer box in the middle of the trunk, this is the enclosure we designed for you.
The Audio Designs and Custom Graphics Phantom Fit BMW M5 Subwoofer Box was designed specifically around the trunk of the 2017 to 2023 BMW F90 M5. Rather than giving up valuable cargo space, the enclosure follows the contours of the rear corner of the trunk and integrates into the vehicle for a clean, factory style appearance.
Our goal when designing a Phantom Fit enclosure is simple, maximize subwoofer performance while minimizing the amount of usable space the enclosure occupies.
Designed Specifically for the BMW F90 M5.
This is not a universal enclosure that happens to fit inside the trunk.
We 3D scan the vehicle and design the enclosure around the contours of the BMW’s trunk using CAD software. Every layer is then precision cut on our in house CNC router so the finished enclosure follows the shape of the vehicle.
The result is a subwoofer enclosure that looks like it belongs in the car rather than something that was simply placed in the trunk.
Stack Fab Construction.
Our BMW M5 enclosure uses the Stack Fab fabrication process that Audio Designs and Custom Graphics has been using for years in high end custom audio installations.
Instead of trying to create the complex shape from a conventional rectangular MDF box, multiple CNC cut layers are stacked and bonded together to create the enclosure’s three dimensional shape.
This gives us the ability to use areas of the vehicle that would otherwise be extremely difficult to utilize while producing an enclosure that is exceptionally rigid.
A rigid enclosure reduces unwanted panel resonance and allows the subwoofer to convert more of the amplifier’s power into bass rather than enclosure vibration.
CNC Cut for Repeatable Precision.
Every layer of the enclosure is cut from our digital CAD design on our CNC equipment.
That means we are not hand shaping every enclosure and hoping it resembles the original. Once we have developed and tested the design, we can accurately reproduce it for BMW M5 owners anywhere in the country.
Each enclosure is assembled by our fabrication team in Jacksonville, Florida.
Sealed for Performance.
After assembly, the inside of the enclosure is sealed to help create an airtight cabinet.
We have used this construction method on our Phantom Fit and custom Stack Fab enclosures for years because proper enclosure rigidity and sealing are critical to subwoofer performance.
Our existing Stack Fab designs use bonded MDF construction and an interior fiberglass resin coating to seal the porous MDF.
Keep Your Trunk Space.
Traditional subwoofer boxes often consume a significant portion of a sedan’s trunk.
The Phantom Fit BMW M5 enclosure uses the otherwise difficult to use space along the rear side of the trunk. This keeps the center cargo area open for luggage, groceries, detailing supplies, or anything else you normally carry.
Choose a single enclosure for one side or use matching driver and passenger side enclosures for a symmetrical installation and increased bass output.
Built Around Your Subwoofer.
A subwoofer enclosure should be designed around the subwoofer, not the other way around.
When ordering, provide the exact manufacturer and model number of the subwoofer you plan to use. This allows us to confirm important specifications including mounting diameter, mounting depth, displacement, and required enclosure volume.
If you purchase the subwoofer directly from Audio Designs and Custom Graphics, we can configure the enclosure appropriately before it leaves our facility.
