We will gladly allow you to bring your own equipment, but we wanted to explain the differences in the level of service we will be able to offer you. The customer service that has made us legendary is very time-consuming and, to be honest, quite expensive for us. When you are buying your products from us, the profit dollars in the equipment you buy allows us to give you the service you have come to expect from us. Here are the differences and advantages you gain when buying your equipment from Audio Designs directly:

• As of January 2016, our labor rate is $125 per hour. When you buy your equipment from us, we give you a $40 per hour discount, bringing the labor rate down to $85 per hour. This alone may be enough of a benefit to warrant buying all of your equipment through us.
• When you buy a product from us, we offer free lifetime technical support. If you bring the equipment, you will get technical support from the company where you purchased it – if it’s available, or we will gladly offer you technical support at our normal labor rate.
• During the warranty period of any product bought from us, we give our clients free software and/or firmware updates as needed. After the warranty period is over, we offer a paid service to perform these updates for our clients. If you bring us the product, you are responsible for any software and/or firmware updates needed.
• If you buy the product from us, we go out to your vehicle, sit in it with you and go over everything about the operation of the equipment. We will take as long as needed to ensure you are comfortable with the operation of the new products. If you need more instruction in the future, come on back – that help is always free. If you supply the product, you will have to contact the company you bought the product from for instructional help. We do offer instructional help at our normal labor rates, should you so desire.
• Our warranty on our installation work is one year. If you buy the product from us, we extend the warranty to lifetime for the original purchaser.
• If something quits working, we will gladly look at it for you. When buying the product from us:
• You instantly move to the front of our installation schedule, versus being scheduled for our next available appointment.
• We cover the labor on diagnostic time if the product, not the installation, is found to be the problem. If you supplied the product and it is found to be the problem, you will be charged diagnostic time at our current labor rates.
• Let’s say we install a wonderful navigation unit for you and it stops working after six months. We get the vehicle in our bay and find the product is bad. You supplied it to us. You will be charged to remove the product, plus shipping it to the service center, plus labor to reinstall the unit when it comes back from warranty. The service time could be a month or more.
• If we supplied the navigation system and it develops an issue under warranty, we cover the removal, shipping to the service department and the reinstallation, all at no cost to you. Since we have great relationships with our vendors, we can often swap the product so you have no downtime in waiting for it to be repaired.
