The staff at Audio Design and Custom Graphics in Jacksonville, Florida, love working with the latest technologies. We integrate driver safety features, convenience systems and upgraded audio into vehicles every day. We have the expertise to add the features you want to the vehicle you already have. Let’s look at a few of the most common OEM integration projects we do each month.
Audio System Improvement
There is no denying that these so-called “premium” factory audio systems can’t compare with even a modest aftermarket audio system. Most audio system upgrades start with the addition of a subwoofer to properly reproduce bass frequencies. With a dedicated subwoofer, enclosure and amplifier in your vehicle to handle “the lows,” the small factory speakers no longer have to try to produce these sounds. They can focus on midrange and high frequencies, and sound better doing it. We offer many creative options for subwoofer systems that don’t take up much, if any, room at all in your vehicle. One great example is our Ford Focus Stealth subwoofer enclosure (seen above). You can check it out here.
If you want to take your system further with amplifiers, upgraded speakers or signal processing, we’d be happy to help. We have interfaces that allow us to use your factory source unit as the heart of an amazing audio system.
If your vehicle allows, we can replace the factory radio with a multimedia receiver that includes CarPlay and Android Auto. If you haven’t experienced these systems, you need to drop by our shop and check them out. If you do decide to change the radio, we have modules that can display vehicle information and setting options on the screen of these aftermarket units. These same modules allow your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with a new radio.
Communication
If your vehicle didn’t come from the factory with Bluetooth, we can add it for you. There are many hands-free kits that we can install to let you stay in touch while keeping your hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road. Most of these systems work with your existing speakers and offer excellent voice quality. We can often add an auxiliary input to a factory radio and, using the Bluetooth interface, allow you to stream your favorite music from your smartphone.
The Big Screen
If your vehicle has a factory color display in the dash, we have many interface modules that allow us to display additional information on those screens. For example, we can add a backup camera to show what’s behind the vehicle as soon as you put the transmission in reverse. We can send a video feed from a standalone DVD or media player onto the factory screen. Many of these interface modules also allow us to bypass the navigation menu lockout feature. This bypass allows your passenger to enter a navigation destination, even once you have started driving. The same goes for the video display lockout.
Safety And Convenience
We have many safety and convenience products that operate completely independently of any of the factory systems. We can add a rear view mirror that includes a display for a backup camera, or has backup sensors to warn you of objects behind the vehicle. We can, of course, install a remote car starter to give your air conditioning system a head start on cooling off the interior. We have many rear seat entertainment options, such as overhead DVD players and replacement headrests with integrated screens and DVD players, to keep your family entertained on long trips.
Many of our clients want to have additional USB charging ports in their vehicle. We can add a high-current USB charging port anywhere you want. The glove box? Center console? Rear seats? Just point, and we will make it happen. The 2.1 amp high-current supply ensures that phones and large tablets will charge quickly and efficiently.
