A customer from Mandarin, Florida came to Audio Designs and Custom Graphics with a beautiful 2014 Ford Fiesta ST. What a great little pocket rocket! Unfortunately, the audio system does not match the performance. That is where we come into the picture. This person wanted to keep the factory stereo in the dash but wanted the sound to be incredible. He wanted to hear every last nuance in the music. We set up an audio consultation, went over specific goals, and desires for this Ford Fiesta audio upgrade, and came to a mutual agreement for the project. An appointment was set, and it was off to the races.

Audison Bit One Performs Many Services

For this vehicle, we chose an Audison Bit One processor to integrate the stock stereo system in the dash with the new speakers and amplifiers.  This device serves many purposes. It allows us to de-eq the system, meaning we can get rid of the EQ curve that Ford adds to the music.  You see, what they do is take low-quality speakers and add equalization to try and make them sound better. When you install high-quality speakers in the vehicle, their eq circuit will muddy up the sound.  So we get rid of it!

The second thing the processor does is take all of the music that the car maker divides up and puts it all back together. This is called summing. Now that we have a great quality audio signal to use, the Bit One gets tuned by our trained staff. When done properly, it is music nirvana. The processor comes with a display controller that we installed into the lower dash area.

Hertz Amplifiers and Speakers + Audiomobile Subwoofers = WOW!

From there, the music travels to the three Hertz amplifiers.  The amps power Hertz HSK163 front speakers and Audiomobile subwoofers. We bridged a Hertz HCP4 to deliver 190 watts of clean power to each 6.5″ woofer in the door. An HCP4D amp provides 85 watts of clean power to the 3″ midrange and tweeters that we custom installed in pods on the corners of the dash. An HCP1D sends 700 watts of clean power to the Audiomobile 10″ subwoofers in a custom enclosure in the hatchback.

Attention To Detail Throughout This Ford Fiesta Audio Upgrade

As this customer wanted every last ounce of sound quality, we spent a lot of time designing and aiming the pods for the speakers on the dash. This widened up the sound stage and gave the car incredible depth and realism that made you want to stay there forever. In the rear of the vehicle, we continued our custom theme and molded the subwoofer enclosure and amp rack into the hatch using factory matching vinyl. The contrasting colors really made it look at home in this vehicle and continued the hi tech look of the Fiesta ST.

When the customer came to pick up his vehicle, he was thrilled. He was all smiles when we gave him the first demo, and he loved the cosmetic integration of all the equipment.
