Focal K2 Power – The Spirit of Sound … with a Kick

No other speaker in the car audio industry is as recognizable as those in the Focal K2 Power series. Their unique yellow Kevlar composite sandwich cones balance damping, mass and rigidity to deliver your music loudly and clearly. The latest-generation ES-series K2 Power speakers have evolved from their predecessors with distortion-reducing technology like Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) surrounds. These seemingly simple ridges in the rubber surround control resonances at high excursion levels, so your music is clearer and more detailed.

Of course, bass and midrange aren’t everything. The TKM and TKMX tweeters found in the K2 Power drivers feature an inverted M-shape Kevlar dome. A layer of flax fibers are sandwiched between the top layer of glass fiber and the foam core of the woofers. This ultra-rigid, lightweight material strengthens the cone without adding significant mass. The result is authoritative presence and clarity, even when the volume is cranked. Just like the K2 Power speakers, the Flax Evo drivers use the TMD surround and rigid cast aluminum baskets.

The tweeters in the Flax Evo speakers use an aluminum and magnesium composite cone that’s pressed into a proprietary M-profile design. Focal claims the TAM tweeter design offers improved diffusion performance, so your music will always sound great. The Flax Evo series offers two-way component sets in 4-, 5.25- and 6.5-inch sizes, along with a three-way set and a 6.5-inch coaxial driver.
