iPad in Dash is one of our favorite parts to build!  Audio Designs and Custom Graphics has the best clients. We get to build incredible audio systems for their cars, trucks, motorcycles and boats. We fabricate amazing subwoofer enclosures and cool-looking amps racks that blow our customers’ minds. A relatively new option has been to install an iPad in dash or center console. Let’s look at why this is such a great option for a source unit.

Easy-to-use Interface

There is an undeniable level of coolness associated with having an iPad installed in your dash. The large display and easy-to-use interface is intuitive and blazingly fast – you can get to your music in mere seconds, with one or two taps on the screen. Because it’s an iPad, it can do so much more than just play music. You can stream audio from Pandora, Radio, Slacker, Spotify or TuneIn Radio. You can also watch YouTube or check in on Facebook the second you arrive at your destination. All you need is a cellular-equipped iPad or data-sharing to your cellular phone.

Seamless Integration

We can connect your iPad to an amplifier to create an audio system that operates independently of the factory radio. Even high-resolution audio file playback is an option for the sound-quality aficionado. If you want something a bit more unique, we could install a Sony radio beneath or behind the iPad and use its App Remote to control all the functions of the radio. This solution gives you easy access to the tuner, CD and USB sources from the screen of the iPad.

Navigation with an iPad couldn’t be easier. You have access to Google Maps, Apple Maps or the incredible Waze application. You and your fellow Waze users can share real-time traffic flow information. You will know what time you will arrive at your destination, right down to the minute. Searching for Points of Interest (POI) is easy – you have the entire Internet at your disposal – and you can see where you are going with Google Street View before you even leave your driveway.
