We have many clients here at Audio Designs & Custom Graphics who drive late-model Ford Mustangs. Many of these customers have asked about having an Apple iPad mounted in the dashes of their vehicles. In response, we have designed a custom Mustang tablet dash kit that integrates beautifully into the dash of 2010–2014 Ford Mustangs.
Applications
We offer three different packages to meet the needs of different tablet computers. Our first kit works with the Apple iPad mini 1, 2 and 3. The second kit works with the iPad Mini 4, which is thinner than its predecessors. Our third kit is for the Google Nexus tablet. The kits have a satin-black finish that matches the rest of the center console perfectly. We silver-accent a ring around the tablet itself that follows the theme of the center air vents. If you want to see the kit, just take a look at this video:
Installation
All of our iPad and tablet mounting kits install quickly and easily, using incredibly strong neodymium magnets. The magnets hold the mount in place without the need to drill any holes in your vehicle or dash, yet allow your iPad or tablet to be removed quickly and easily when you want to access them.
Our attention to detail makes us what we are – renowned for our skilled, high-quality installations. To that end, we install ClearShield over the magnets to ensure they will not scratch your radio or trim. All of our tablet computer mounts will work with the basic AM/FM radio as well as the Navigation radio. We have created a detailed installation video that can be viewed here:
Connectivity
Audio from your tablet computer can feed into the factory audio system via a Bluetooth connection to your Mustang’s Ford Sync system. In this configuration, you can use the factory steering wheel audio controls to change tracks while listening to music. If you do not have Sync or want to save the Bluetooth connection for hands-free calling, we offer an Aux input adapter that allows your tablet computer to connect to the aux port on your radio via a Bluetooth connection. You can purchase this adapter here.
Charging Solutions
Most tablet computers need 2.1 amps of current to charge properly. The stock Ford radio cannot provide this much current. Not to worry – we also offer a dual-outlet, high-current USB charging port. This lets you give your tablet computer and a cellphone all the current they require to charge quickly and operate reliably. You can buy the USB port here. To purchase the Mustang iPad dash mount, please follow this link.
Audio Designs & Custom Graphics continues to develop unique solutions for our clients. Our Mustang tablet computer-mounting options and our Ford Focus Stealth enclosure are just the first items that our CNC router has allowed us to design and build. Much more will be coming shortly.

Unfortunately we do not. Are you close to Jacksonville, FL? We would need the vehicle to build it.
